IT for Students
The Campus Card is your student identification card for the entire duration of your studies at the h_da and is issued once free of charge. On the back of the card there is a special thermo-rewrite strip that has to be re-printed in one of the (re-)validation devices distributed throughout the university for each new semester. It is also valid in combination with your personal ID Card as ticket for the public transport in the RMV-region.
How to re-registrate and withdraw from your studies
Students are required to re-register before each semester and pay the tuition fee for that semester. There are also several ways to withdraw from Hochschule Darmstadt.
How to use your Master Password
You need the master password to activate or reset/unlock your h_da account self-service function. The master passwords are sent by our IT department usually a few days after your receipt of your CampusCard. If you have forgot your master password, please contact our Help Desk on the ground floor of the Studierendenhaus (C23).
Self-service functions for students:
Using the Self Servic Function you can print out your matriculation certificates by yourself. You may also use this function to take courses and register for your examinations.
Activate or reset your h_da account
With this operation you may activate your h_da account with your h_da user ID (or your student number) and your master password. You can also use this function to reactivate your h_da account if it is locked (i.e. if you have repeatedly entered the wrong password) or if you forgot your h_da password.
Check the state of your h_da account
With this operation you may check whether your h_da account is already activated and whether is locked due too many login attempts with a wrong password.
Change personal data and apply for a semsterticket
You may change your personal data like web address, password, spamfilter options and newsletter subscriptions here. You need your h_da user-ID and your h_da password of your activated account for these functions.

Why can I no longer log in to my.h-da.de? It works on the other applications
After activating your student account, you can only log in to my.h-da.de with your h-da user ID (stxxxxxxx) and the password you have set.
It is usually no longer possible to log in with your application account 14 days after enrolment.
How do I get my Master's password as a student in my first semester?
You will receive your Master's password for your student account online after your enrolment on my.h-da - My University Portal (https://my.h-da.de) . After logging in with your application access data, the master password will be displayed directly on the start page. It is best to make a note of your master password and keep it in a safe place.
After logging in with your student account (stxxxxxxx) at my.h-da.de, the Master's password can be downloaded as a PDF and printed out under Study Services - Notifications.
How do I get my h_da access data?
After enrolment you will receive an e-mail with your h_da user ID and h_da e-mail address. This e-mail with the subject: * Enrolment at the h_da: Activate your account ** Enrolment at the h_da: Activate your account * will be sent to your private e-mail address.
Log in again at my.h-da.de with your application account and you will find your master password on the start page.
You can activate your h_da account with your master password and your user ID (stxxxxxxx).

In addition to your user ID (stxxxxxxx), you will also need your master password.
What is my e-mail address and how can I access my mailbox?
Your h_da e-mail address was sent to you in our e-mail (subject: * Enrolment at the h_da: Activate your account ** Enrolment at the h_da: Activate your account * ) and in the letter with the CampusCard. As a rule, it follows the template firstname.lastname@stud.h-da.de ; however, it may differ from this if necessary.

At https://webmail.stud.h-da.de you will find our webmail service for students (Roundcube) as well as links to further instructions and information. In particular, we recommend setting up Mailcients & Apps (IMAP) (https://link.h-da.de/stemail), which contains the configuration data for synchronising your h-da mailbox with a mail client.
How can I have SPAM and phishing mails deleted before they are received?
In your ‘Personal data’ you have the option of deleting recognised SPAM e-mails before they are delivered to your mailbox. Please note that if you select this setting, neither the sender nor you will receive an error message and the e-mails deleted in this way cannot be recovered under any circumstances!
You can activate this ‘Delete directly’ function as follows:
go to: http://h-da.de/aktivieren and click on the item - Change personal data. After logging in, select the item - Your spam filter options. There you can change the selection to Delete directly and save.
Why can't I log in to the h-da website?
If you only activated your h_da user account today, you will not be able to log in to the h_da intranet until tomorrow (Quicklinks -Login)

Why is my WLAN not working?
The ‘eduroam’ WLAN is available on the h_da campus. You can download a configuration for Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences from https://cat.eduroam.org and set it up accordingly. For Android devices, it is easiest to use the app ‘geteduroam’ (https://www.geteduroam.app/).
It is best to delete your old h_da WLAN profiles beforehand and, if necessary, delete the profile a second time. The setup will then usually work. Detailed instructions can be found at: http://link.h-da.de/wlan.
Where can I find information about the WLAN?
Here (http://wlan.h-da.de) you will find information and instructions on how to set up eduroam (WLAN) at h_da.
What access data do I need to log in to the WLAN?
For the eduroam (WLAN) you need your h_da e-mail address and your h_da password. Important for students: this refers to your primary e-mail address, usually: firstname.lastname@stud.h-da.de
