General Student Assembly on November 25, 2025 from 2:15 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
On Monday, November 25, 2025, from 2:15 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., the General Student Assembly (Vollversammlung) of Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences will take place.
Location: C19 Lecture Hall 1+2, Darmstadt Campus
Online: https://rooms.h-da.de/r?room=AStA
The General Student Assembly is the most important forum for all students to discuss key issues, questions, and challenges that concern us as a community. It is your opportunity to have a direct say and make your voice heard – a chance we should take together.
Preliminary topics of the assembly:
Increase in the semester ticket fee
- Impact of the university pact on students
- Elections: running for office, campaigning, participation
(Note: The deadline for submitting candidate lists for the upcoming Student Parliament ends on November 5.)
The final agenda of the assembly is currently being developed and will be published soon on the AStA website.
Your participation matters – only together can we represent our interests effectively.
Prepare for University elections January 19 to February 2, 2025
The next university elections will take place from January 19 to February 2, 2025. Alongside faculty councils, department councils, and the Senate, a new Student Parliament (StuPa) will also be elected.
The StuPa election is a list-based election. The names and programs of the StuPa lists must be finalized at the start of the application phase (November 5, 2025), so that interested students can sign up for a list.
Currently, only the lists for the Student Parliament (StuPa) are missing! Everything else is prepared and almost set up.
And this is where you come in: Start a list for the next StuPa!
How to start a list for the Student Parliament?
Step 1: Submit your list for the upcoming Student Parliament
Gather interested people (individuals are also welcome) and develop a short program: What is your list, and what does it aim to achieve for the student body? Submit this along with a contact person (acting as the preliminary list spokesperson) by the deadline, November 5, 2025, via email to the AStA office (Geschäftsstelle) at h_da.
Step 2: Application Phase I
The order of the competing StuPa lists will be determined by a draw conducted by the election board, which will be binding during the application phase and on the ballot. During the application period, interested students can register as candidates on your StuPa list. To help students understand what they’re signing up for, the program and contact information will be published on the AStA website. Beyond that, each list is free to promote itself and attract as many students interested in StuPa work as possible.
Step 3: Application Phase II
In order for a StuPa list to be eligible for the election, it must have at least 50 supporters. During the application phase, all students can offer their support either for all participating StuPa lists or for "their" preferred list. Although the online application tool may not yet fully reflect this, we hope that detailed explanations on the relevant pages will clarify the process.
Step 4: Pre-Election Preparation
After the application period, all list spokespersons will receive the names and email addresses of their candidates and will be prompted to finalize the order of candidates by a new deadline. This order will then appear on the ballot and determine who joins the StuPa based on vote percentages. The order is binding, and no changes to it or withdrawals are possible after this point. The initial program may be updated by the deadline, as long as it remains consistent with the original content. You may also assign and communicate a new spokesperson or contact person.
Step 5: Campaigning and Voting
Before (and during online elections), you may campaign as a list to gain as many student votes as possible.
Step 6: Post-Election
Following the election, the votes for each StuPa list will be counted, and the new Student Parliament’s composition will be calculated. Based on the number of seats won, individuals from your list will enter the Parliament, with a similar number joining as deputies, while the remaining candidates act as backups in case of resignations.
Step 7: Start of Term
The new Student Parliament's term begins on April 1 and ends on March 31 of the following year. The outgoing StuPa presidium will invite the newly elected members to the first, constitutive meeting.
It’s that simple! Take the chance – in Parliament, you can pursue your university policy goals.
